ABOUT
  • This is a skill-based workshop that aims to equip youth with basic conversational skills in Bahasa Melayu. With Bahasa Melayu being one of the core languages in Singapore, this event hopes to reduce communication barriers and allow youth volunteers to better interact with elderly beneficiaries in time. This is also a transferable skill that will allow youths to apply in a variety of life situations and volunteering events.

    Within the 2.5 session, participants would to be able to pick up basic/conversational Malay and have a deeper understanding of Malay culture!

     

    Programme Details:

    6.45pm – Registration & Dinner

    7.10pm – Introduction

    7.20pm – Warm-up Activity

    7.35pm – Main activities & Exercises

    8.40pm – Games/ Cultural Sharing

    9.20pm – Evaluation & Recap

    9.30pm – Closing & Feedback

Youth Corps Service Week Lead-in Sessions aim to better equip our youth on the social landscape such that they may then use these skills and/or knowledge to effectively take social action. YCSW 2020 is Youth Corp Singapore's signature community service event running from the 14th to 22nd March where over a 1000 volunteering opportunities across a range of causes are curated specially for youth to participate in.
